God supports the French for familiarizing the world with fine nourishment! For if it wasn't the French, the world would have never pondered the unmistakable gourmet sauces, the different cooking strategies and clearly the enormous collection of cheddar (practically 400 of them)! Talking about cooking techniques, a couple of words have no proportionate indistinguishable in English and are along these lines tended to by their French name. Sauté and Braise are two such terms that I know off; I'm sure there must be more!
